Job Description
A well-qualified and experienced Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA) (if possible, with oil industry background) to be recruited to head the Finance department of the company.
The successful candidate will be saddled with the task of building up the department (systems, process and structure) to deliver efficient management information system and process.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Finance Manager is expected to drive best practices in financial management, within the organization to maximize efficiency and growth. She/he will manage a team to oversee financial management and compliance activities (DPR, FIRS NNPC/COMD).
Financial Management:
The Finance Manager will ensure long term sustainability of the organisation and support the growth of the company via the following activities:
Manage Financial Planning:
Prepare and maintain financial forecasts in consultation with other management staff (including the annual budget and the medium term business plan);
Design appropriate financial due diligence procedures for Capital expenditure projects and operation; and perform financial assessment of the operation and projects.
Lead the organization fund raising drive
Manage Financial Moring and Reporting
Ensure efficient financial monitoring and reporting (including monitoring expenses and revenues, reviewing and upgrading existing procedures, ensuring production of appropriate financial reports for internal and external clients);
Ensure high quality accounting (including overseeing day to day accounting, managing the year-end audit process);
Organize and prepare audit and finance committees meetings.
Ensure Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations;
Ensure compliance with internal policies.
Education/Experience
A Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or any numerate discipline plus recognized professional certification (such as ACA, ACCA, CMA, CFA)
Knowledge of Oil & Gas accounting practices, taxation, and relevant laws.
Minimum 5 years in financial management
Previous experience in Oil & Gas will be an added advantage.
