Qualifications
Applicants must possess the basic qualification of First School Leaving and the O’Level Certificate with five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for the relevant discipline respectively
For appointment/upgrading from Librarian I to the position of Senior Librarian or equivalent, a candidate must have normally served for three years as Librarian I in a University or institution of similar status.
In addition, candidate shall have the following qualifications:
A Ph.D degree or equivalent professional fellowship in the relevant discipline.
At least 5 articles published in reputable journals in the form research publications, creative and professional works.
Or
A Master’s degree with course work and thesis (Library and Information Science, etc)
Four(4) years teaching experience as Librarian I
At least six (6) articles published in reputable journals in the form of research publications, creative and professional writing.
A rating of above Satisfactory from the Department/Faculty Appointments & Promotions Committee (Academic) on his academic and administrative leadership of the department as well as demonstration of interests in community service.
