Major Accountabilities of Position
Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable.
Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel; Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise
Lead the Pipeline team and be accountable to senior management for the activities of the department
Write specifications that meets the specific needs of a project.
Develop and implement training plans for the improvement of the engineers in the department.
Manage discipline interfaces and carry out Quality checks of Pipeline design deliverables.
Facilitate and lead a technical review and HAZOP/Constructability meetings.
Report project progress accurately
Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering or related field.

Job Specific Knowledge:
Working knowledge of the latest applicable engineering codes and standards, design practices and design quality standards.
Must have two or more special skills/knowledge based areas either in mechanical or Pipeline designs and engineering.
Experience in all aspects of Onshore and offshore projects from front end design through to detailed design, commissioning and handover
Sound knowledge of Piping drawing and office produced deliverables
Expert in the Application of knowledge to add value, Understanding and implementation of engineering and design process, Designs for constructability, commissioning, operations and maintenance
Industry Specific Experience:
5 years of related working experience. Professional (COREN or NSE) registration with active membership in a professional society is required. FPSO and Subsea experience will be added advantage.
HSE Capability:
Commitment to safe working practices and ability to promote safety consciousness within the department
IT Skills:
Proficiency in utilizing PC and various computer engineering applications software is required (including CAD, Microstation CAD systems if applicable)
People Skills:
Requires communication skills to be able to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively with other disciplines
Other Relevant Information:
Limited travel required
Work require liaising with other disciplines to develop design
