General objective
To increase beneficiary’s access to and impact of services for Nutrition,
To develop beneficiaries capacity to demand for services and increase their influence in policy decisions
To increase beneficiaries demand for nutritional services by increasing the voice of women and other identified marginalized citizens
4.Increase active engagement in addressing malnutrition through improved resources and political commitment for nutrition
Specific objectives
Conduct a capacity assessment of beneficiaries knowledge of nutrition rights and entitlements
Assess any existing mechanism(s) for voice and accountability in the target states in the areas of health , maternal and child health and nutrition
Facilitate interstate meetings of partners and state bodies, on voice and accountability to develop State strategies and agree on which mechanisms each state wants to pursue, in order to increase voice and accountability.
Facilitate a Training of Trainers on V&A i.e. run an interstate workshop to train State Nutrition Officers (SNOs), CVs and selected health workers in Voice and Accountability.
Facilitate a piloted V&A Step-down training in a selected WINNN LGA
Organise and Facilitate 3 piloted Nutrition village square meetings in 1 LGA in each WINNN states
Develop a roll-out plan for scaling up in all WINNN states
Expected Outputs
Capacity assessment report and action plan
Report on existing V&A mechanisms in the target states; its structure and functionality
Facilitation of Training of Trainers on V&A for selected CVs from all WINNN states
A Training Manual on Nutrition V&A
How-to-Guide to facilitating and organising a Nutrition village square meeting
Stakeholder/Power Mapping of Nutrition actors in WINNN states
Training reports for ToT and Pilots
A roll-out plan for scaling up V&A activities in all WINNN states
A final report documenting the process, the findings of the capacity assessments and Lessons Learnt for rollout
20 page summary of report and a PowerPoint presentation
Key competencies
10 years working experience in International development specially in the area of Governance or Voice & Accountability
Experience of working in Northern Nigeria and cultural awareness of Northern Nigeria
Good Facilitation, Negotiation, research methods and analytical skills
Evidence of similar work done ( This should be submitted with the proposal/application)
Post Graduate degree in Law, International development, Public Policy or Philosophy
Working Knowledge of the Hausa Language
Fluent in English language
